Summer Holiday Club Launch

The spell of good weather we are having is a sure sign that the summer holidays are nearly upon us. This year the Church is planning to run a week-long Summer Holiday Club open to all children who attend Cardross Primary School and who may or may not already be members of our Sunday School.

The Holiday Club will run Monday to Friday 9.30-12noon from the 8th to the 12th of July and will culminate in a Community service and picnic on Sunday 14th July. Please pass on the details to everyone you know and if you feel you can offer help please contact Peter Foster on 01436 678226.

The theme of the Summer Holiday Club is 'Waste Watchers' and will explore how we should take care of our planet and recycle things, this will be done through lots of fun games and activities as well as arts and crafts.

The cost is £10 / child for the week. Registration forms will be handed out at the school Gala Day (Sat 8th of June) and will also be available from the school office.

Friday Night is Music Night...

A fantastic night of music and comedy will be held on Friday 19th April in the Church Halls. The concert, which is being held in aid of Church funds, features the fabulous singing voice of Richard Morrison, Saxophonist Geoff Graham, Accordionist Ian Muir and comedian Eddie Devine. Don't miss out as it promises to be a fantastic night. Tickets are £10.00 and are available from the Church office.

Happy Easter!

HE IS RISEN!

We had beautiful (but cold) weather this morning to greet our risen Lord and a great turn out too for our Easter services. A gathering of around two dozen met in the Bible garden for a special service at 8.30am and they were rewarded by warm bacon rolls afterwards in the church halls. During the main service we were visited by a Grant Montgomery from Ardardan who brought along a new-born lamb, which was named 'Chocolate' by the children in the congregation. After both services we released our customary balloons with Easter greeting messages attached, which headed skyward and off in a north-westerly direction for a change. A big thanks to Peter Foster for taking today's services and for all his hard, and caring, work whilst Rev Munro has been off ill, especially this Holy Week. The good news is that Rev Munro is 'on the mend' and will be back leading our worship at Cardross soon.

A happy and blessed Easter to all of you.

Easter Services

Easter is only a couple of weeks away (although with the current weather you could be forgiven for thinking it was coming up for Christmas) this marks a busy week for the Church.

The arrangements for the Holy Week services are as follows:

March 24th 11am - Palm Sunday.

A service for Congregational Rededication, followed by a lunch and exhibition of Church life and work in the Church Hall.

March 28th 7.30pm - Maundy Thursday.

A service to commemorate the holding of the Last Supper by Jesus and the Disciples, and with Communion.

March 29th 7.30pm - Good Friday.

The Church will be open during the day, between 9am and 3pm, for personal meditation and will feature prayers and music on the hour. In the evening an inter-denominational service of meditation will mark our Lord's sacrifice on the cross.

March 31st - Easter Sunday

8.30am - Easter breakfast service in the Church Hall grounds followed by a 'Bacon roll' breakfast and the traditional release of Easter Greeting balloons.

11am - Family service for Easter including Communion and afterwards a further release of Easter Greeting balloons.

Guild

The Guild Coffee Morning on Saturday was a great success and raised an amazing £900.00! The money will be donated to three charities, the Julius Project, Erskine Hospital and Dr Graham's Homes in Kalimpong. Well done to everyone who organised and took part in this great event.

Daily bible verse

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love

—Ephesians 1:3-4 (NIV)
