THE BIBLE FOR ANY DAY

God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, that everyone who has faith in him may not perish but have eternal life.

John 3;16

Here I stand knocking at the door; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and sit down to supper with him and he with Me.

Revelation 3; 20

A PRAYER FOR ANY DAY

Eternal God, our Father above, help me this day to know you better so that day by day I may enter into fullness of living, and as I know life better as it should be and can be, I will come to know you better too.

A PRAYER WHEN TEMPTATION COMES

Almighty God, we know that there are times of temptation when we cannot open up to others but only to Yourself. Receive us as we come: Understand our failings; and

give us your strength: that we may see our way clearly in our minds, may receive

the cleansing power of your forgiveness in our hearts and know the blessed peace of your grace for now and forever.

A PRAYER WHEN IN DOUBT

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and He will show you the right way.” (Proverbs 3, Verses 5 and 6). GNB

Loving Lord, we worship and adore You
 Hallowed be Your Name
Thank You for the wonderful world of creation all around us -
the beauty of the countryside, the sea and sky.
Thank You for always being there for us in times of trouble -
wrapping Your loving arms around us – giving us peace.
Strengthen us, Lord, through Your power.
Help us to be dedicated in our Worship and Adoration of You.
You are our God, and we are Your loving people.
Help us to worship and adore You. Amen.

“If one of you wants to be great, he must be the servant of the rest, and if one of you wants to be first, he must be your slave, like the Son of Man, who did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life to redeem many people.” (Matthew 20, Verses 26 – 28). GNB

Lord, You are a compassionate God, and we confess that in our service of You, we sometimes seek our own way instead of listening to You showing us the way forward in our lives.
Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and show us the way forward in the life and work of Your Church.
Lord we adore You. Amen.

“….. so we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us.” (Romans 12, Verse 6). GNB

Lord God, our Heavenly Father, thank You for the many gifts You have given to each one of us.
Show us how to use our gifts to Your Glory.
Help us to keep alert to all the opportunities and challenges that You offer us, so that Your work will move forward.
Help us to be aware of signs of Your presence and guidance with us each day, and be encouraged and enthusiastic in the way forward. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

“The Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control.” (Galatians 5, Verse 6). GNB

Lord God, our Heavenly Father, as we hear our daily news, from newspapers, radio or television, we are aware of wars, injustice, oppression, and suffering through the World.
We cry out for Peace in our World, Lord, and we ask that You will be there in the midst of all the conflict and poverty.
Show each one of us how we can help – through our prayers, and from our resources.
Lord hear our prayer.
We pray for those who are in difficult circumstances of any kind.
Lord hear our prayer.
We pray for those who suffer because of natural disasters with shortage of food and water and often the destruction of their homes our source of income.
Lord hear our prayer
Help us to pray “Thy Kingdom Come”.
Lord hear our prayer. AMEN

Lydia said, “Come and stay at my house if you have decided that I am a true believer in the Lord. And she persuaded us to go.” (Acts 16, Verse 15). GNB

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of hospitality, so that we may be encouraged to use our home as a place where we welcome those who call.
Help us to remember that Your Holy Spirit is always present with us in all that we say and do.
As we welcome people to our homes and our Church, especially newcomers, let us offer the hand of friendship in Your Name.
Lord, grant us the gift of hospitality. AMEN

Daily bible verse

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

—2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)
