***CARDROSS CARES-UPDATE***

CARDROSS CARES. Thanks the many volunteers and the team organising the postcard distribution for our community. The postcards have all been delivered to the volunteers to put in the doors allocated to them and we hope to have them all out by Sunday evening. Remember that the two Nurseries/Garden shops are both able to do deliveries.

You can see Craigend Nursery video on the Cardross Community facebook page. Ardarden's shop is now closed but is taking orders for home delivery. If you telephone 01389 849188 and leave your number they will call you back. Do this by Sunday for a collection on Tuesday. Abdul at The Post Office is still offering delivery for the over 70s and those in self isolation and you can call him on 01389 841200. Abdul is offering free milk and bread to elderly with problems and he is delighted that a kind person has given him a substantial donation to cover this.

If you have not got a card with details of a helper near you by Monday 30th.March email CardrossCares@gmail.com
Keep safe and if you need help in isolation use your card for a helper or if no response telephone Rev.Maggie or myself.

***CORONAVIRUS LATEST***

AN EVER-PRESENT HELP

Dear friends,

What a difference a day makes! We are all coming to terms with the changes to our known way of life and trying to process how they will impact upon us as individuals, as a community and as a church.

I received notification from the Church of Scotland this afternoon that as from tomorrow all services of worship will be cancelled for the foreseeable future. There can be no use of the halls for any purpose and the church office will be closed.

We will all feel shocked at this news but please do not fret. The Psalmist tells us that, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46) If ever we need to believe this – now is the time. The arrival of the coronavirus has created an ever-changing situation. Let us find our refuge and strength in the One who never changes and who has been, is and always will be an ever-present help in our times of trouble.

Please check the church website and Facebook page for updates. Even though we cannot meet in the church for worship there will be some kind of Sunday service available to access online.

Keeping you all in prayer in these uncertain days.

With God’s richest blessings.
Maggie.

Daily bible verse

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

—James 5:16 (NIV)
